'Sasha'
Come and say hello to Sasha our friendly black capped capuchin and one of the stars of the zoo. Capuchins can be found in Central America (Honduras) and middle South America (middle Brazil, eastern Peru and Paraguay). Capuchins are intelligent and easily recognised as the 'Organ Grinder' monkeys of the past. With the exception of a midday nap, they spend their entire day searching for food. At night they sleep in the trees, wedged between branches.

Ring-Tailed Lemur
Lemurs can only be found on the island of Madagascar. In the mornings, Ring-tailed Lemurs ritually sunbathe to warm themselves. They face the sun, sitting in what is frequently described as a "sun-worshipping" posture or Lotus position. The Ring-tailed Lemur primarily eats fruits and leaves and is particularly fond of the leaves of the tamarind tree. The lemur's trademark, a long, bushy tail, is ringed in twenty-six black and white rings. The tail always begins with a white stripe and ends with a black one. Social hierarchies are determined by sex. Females have a distinct hierarchy but males have a non-linear hierarchy with occasion to frequent rank reversals; females socially dominate male in all circumstances, including feeding priority.

Meerkats
The meerkat is a small mammal belonging to the mongoose family. It inhabits the Kalahari Desert in Botswana and South Africa. The meerkat uses its tail to balance when standing upright. Meerkats are primarily insectivores, but also eat lizards, snakes, scorpions, spiders, plants, eggs, small mammals, millipedes, centipedes and, more rarely, small birds.
